For Princess to have been selected as a finalist with what is their first ‘superyacht’ build is an incredible achievement but then again, Imperial Princess is an incredible yacht. As Boat International so aptly summarized, “Despite being the first foray into the arena of semi-custom superyachts for the UK-based Princess Yachts International, the judges felt that this first yacht of a series had been designed and built to impressively high standards. They also admired her attractive exterior lines and her exterior and interior spaces, which were also well decorated and laid out to ensure an optimum division between the size of guest and crew areas. Princess collaborated with Bernard Olesinski on the exterior stylist; Olesinski also provided naval architecture, while Bannenberg & Rowell Design and Princess gave the first 40m Princess her interior design.”

This outstanding achievement follows the recent selection of Imperial Princess as “Best Production Motor Yacht (24m to 40m)” for the 2013 Asia Boating Awards, further evidence of the tireless commitment of Princess to continue to produce the world’s finest luxury performance cruising yachts in their class

For Princess to have been selected for these prestigious awards for their very first 40 meter yacht is an incredible accolade in itself, and a clear recognition from the industry of outstanding early achievements within a sector that brings the company of many world-renowned large yacht builders. All of us at wish to congratulate the magnificent team at Princess Yachts International on this extraordinary honor, as well as the extremely talented teams of Bernard Olesinski Ltd. and Bannenberg & Rowell Design for their work in creating a new benchmark in the 40M motor yacht class.

The flagship Princess 40M is a sublime expanse of interior and exterior living space which can comfortably accommodate up to twelve guests and seven crew in complete privacy. Constructed to world-class standards and with enviable presence, she delivers class-leading levels of luxury and build detailing. She also offers enormous scope for customisation, enabling owners to create their ultimate yacht.

Sleek looks disguise the tri-deck yacht’s enormous interior which offers considerably more volume than many rivals of the same length, whilst great attention has been paid to achieving the highest recognised standards for quietness and comfort. Drop down balconies transform the main saloon into a spectacular area for entertaining and relaxing with a formal dining area enjoying extensive views through panoramic windows.

The magnificent owners suite takes pride of place forward of the main deck and is exceptionally spacious with a palatial bathroom which can be specified as individual ‘his and hers’ if required. It also features expansive walk-in wardrobes and an ante-room which owners can specify to suit their requirements. Space below deck is exceptional and can accommodate up to five additional staterooms with ease.

Attention to detail, and to guest comfort, are evident throughout, in everything right down to the under floor heating in all guest bathrooms. A grand central staircase links each deck from the sundeck to the lower accommodation and the crew can circulate around the boat using their own discrete stairway between decks.

Superb sea-keeping is augmented with an impressive cruising range, achieved through engineered weight reduction and the latest infused moulding technology.

Princess-40M-runningPOWERFULL: The 40 Meter is powered by a pair of MTU-12V diesels, which produce a top-end speed near 22 knots. The tri-deck is also equipped with an automatic fuel handling system and two 80-kw generators. Princess reports the 40 Meter is built with some of the most advanced technologies and techniques available, including resin-infusion.

18b2e39f BIG: The Princess is built for heavy-duty cruising, with massive 230-kg anchors at the bow and an oversized garage at the stern, where there’s space for a 20-foot tender plus two personal watercraft.

a_756_3577STYLE AND ELEGANCE: The focal point of the yacht is the main deck with its beautifully appointed salon that’s surrounded by windows and equipped with hydraulically folding balconies that are fitted as standard equipment.

IN GOOD TASTE: Also on the main deck and adjacent to the salon is the dining area, where a table can be set for up to 10 guests. With a beam that hits a whopping 26 feet and four inches, the 40 Meter has more space in its interior than any other tri-deck in this class.

SUITE DREAMS: Forward of the main deck is the owner’s suite, which stretches across the full beam of the yacht, thanks to raised side decks. Forward, a single or a pair of bathrooms is accessed off the dressing area, where there are two walk-in wardrobes.

GUEST ROOMS: Since the 40 Meter can be customized for each owner, no two will ever be alike. Princess offers a variety of layout options, particularly when it comes to guest accommodations. For instance, the yacht can be built with four or five guest cabins (the forward cabin is shown here) on the lower deck. Or, you can specify a home theater and gym in place of the two cabins located amidships.

SKY LOUNGE: On the upper deck is the sky lounge, which is a great place to entertain as there’s an adjacent exterior dining area. From the sky lounge, a curved stairway leads up to the sun deck with wet bar, sun lounges and a spa tub.

TOP GALLEY: The enormous professional galley was designed to the exacting specifications of a professional chef and is equipped with two catering-size refrigerator/freezers and a huge pantry, among other things. For easy serving, a dumb-waiter runs from the main deck to the upper deck and sun deck.

40M_HelmCONTROL CENTER: The wheelhouse features a sophisticated glass bridge that incorporates the control and monitoring systems in one sleek console. The captain’s cabin is nearby, and the Princess 40 M can accommodate a crew of seven or eight.
